Immediate Cash From Hybrid Automobile Tax Rebate Expiring
People shopping for a hybrid automobile had better act quickly if they want a tax credit. The rebate is expiring and no more instant cash will be accessible for purchasing some green cars. The tax rebate on most hybrid vehicles and trucks, and on some diesels, is expiring in Jan 2011. Plug in electrics will still have a rebate available, though. Buying a hybrid can keep you from being forced to take out a payday cash loans to fill up the gas tank.
Tax rebate granting immediate cash for green cars to expire
As part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the government came out with a new tax credit that gave anyone who purchased a hybrid vehicle or certain diesel powered car immediate money. The Choice Motor Car Credit, for those who could or did take advantage of it, offered a great incentive to consult a loan company to finance a greener car. However, based on USA Today, that incentive is expiring. In January 2011, buying a hybrid automobile like the Toyota Motors Prius will no more give you a tax credit. Even the Volkswagen Jetta TDI and other diesel models won’t get you it.
Keeping some of the rebates
There can be some rebates still available although most of them are expiring. Plug-in electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf will nevertheless enable you to get a rebate. The hitch, though, is that to obtain those automobiles, a person has to obtain a personal bank loan for a lot more. You will end up paying $40,000 for the Volt and $32,000 for the Leaf upfront. That is before any rebate is added. You’ll pay less than $25,000 for the Prius. Of course, the rebate does not cover the cheaper vehicles. Part of the bill was that once a car maker had sold 60,000 green automobiles, the rebate would no longer be accessible.
Better act fast
Only 2 weeks are left for getting a credit on taxes by purchasing hybrid and diesel models. There is a list on USA Today and Consumer Reports of which cars are eligible for a rebate until Jan. 1, 2011.
